In traditional Chinese medicine, we believe that disease or pain is caused by disruptions to the flow of energy (or qi) in the body.
This qi or energy runs along meridians which are closely mapped to the central nervous system. When needles are inserted at certain points on or under the skin, the qi & blood start moving again, which offers relief from pain and with time, relief from the symptoms of disease.

Whether you are navigating stress and burnout, hormonal changes, fertility and pregnancy, or chronic pain, your body is always doing its best to keep you safe. My role is to listen deeply, work with your system (not against it) and offer treatments that feel safe, nourishing and effective.
Sessions are collaborative. We move at your pace, with clear communication and consent at every step. Over time, acupuncture can help re-pattern your nervous system, ease symptoms and reconnect you with a steadier sense of self.

Yes, when performed by a qualified practitioner with pregnancy training. Louise has extensive experience in pregnancy acupuncture and uses safe, evidence-based protocols throughout all trimesters.
It is believed that acupuncture supports IVF by improving blood flow to reproductive organs, reducing stress, regulating hormones, and supporting embryo implantation. Many fertility clinics recommend acupuncture as complementary care.
Most clients find acupuncture very relaxing. The needles are extremely fine (much thinner than injection needles), and insertion is usually painless, enhancing the overall wellness experience. You may feel a mild tingling or dull ache, which is normal and indicates the treatment is working.
This varies based on your condition and goals. Acute issues may improve in 3-6 sessions, while chronic conditions or fertility support typically require longer treatment plans, often incorporating cupping and herbal medicine. Louise will discuss your personalised treatment plan during your initial consultation.
Yes, Louise is recognised by all major private health funds. If you have acupuncture coverage, you can claim rebates directly with your insurer.
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that can be easily rolled up to access points on your arms and legs. For pregnancy or fertility treatments, you may be asked to change into a gown.
Initial consultations are 60-75 minutes to allow time for comprehensive assessment. Follow-up treatments are typically 45-60 minutes.
Your first session includes a comprehensive consultation, where we explore your health history, current symptoms, lifestyle and goals. You will have space to share your story at a pace that feels comfortable.
From there, we develop a personalised treatment plan. A typical acupuncture treatment involves the insertion of very fine, sterile needles at specific points on the body to support the smooth flow of Qi (energy), blood and fluids.
Many people find treatments deeply relaxing and leave feeling calmer, more grounded and connected to themselves.
If you are unsure whether acupuncture is right for you, you are welcome to get in touch and we can explore this together.
